Lalou Labradoodles strives to be among the very best of the Labradoodle breeders and has a strict breeding program using only the best of the best of the Labradoodle breed. We have well-balanced Labradoodles that will produce sound, loving, beautiful, loyal, and intelligent Labradoodle puppies.
Our breeding Labradoodles are Embark genetically tested and have passed health tests for hip dysplasia, eye disorders including PRA (retinal eye disease), exercise-induced collapse, Von Willebrands, and tests for temperament to ensure you get the most healthy puppy possible.
Lalou Labradoodles believe that confirmation is very important. The gait of the Labradoodle should be a large swinging gait that is horizontal, has reach, spring, and a happy way of going. The shoulders extend so there is forward reach, and should look as though they are "going somewhere". The back legs should step under the body and not out in the back, this way the joints will align and there will be less chance of early arthritis.
Proper structure is important for the longevity of joint health into old age. Lalou Labradoodles is very picky about the confirmation and temperaments of our breeding dogs. We inspect and research good movement as well as health testing, temperaments and coat quality. Our females are chosen because they demonstrate the examples of the breed standards set forth by the ALCA and ALAA.
Our puppies are born and raised inside our home, never in kennels. We are present for every birth and assist in deliveries. Every puppy is imprinted with humans as soon as they are delivered then given to the mom to clean and begin bonding.
We use ENS (early neurological stimulation) starting from birth and Puppy Culture protocols starting at 3 days and continuing until they go to their new homes. Our puppies are started potty training and socialization by 7 weeks. They have been exposed to kids, horses, traffic, vacuum cleaners, loud noises, cats, and other life experiences. You name it, our puppies will have been exposed to it by the time they go home with you!
Our adult Labradoodles are happy and healthy and run around our ten acres of beautiful northern Sierra Foothills property. Our dogs live as a pack and are in our home or outside as they determine. All our dogs sleep in our bedroom. They are never confined to a kennel.
We love our Labradoodles and all our dogs are part of our family and regularly go for car rides, boat rides, to the lake, and on nature walks around the beautiful Sierra Foothills. We give our Labradoodles the best care and keep the number of breeding dogs at our home down to a small number so that we can give each dog lots of attention.
Labradoodles are a great choice for a family pet and are very popular here in California and around the United States. Labradoodles offer a lower to non-shedding coat, (depending on coat type), a fun-loving and sweet temperament, and outstanding train-ability. Labradoodles are used for assistance dogs for dog allergy sufferers, they are used as seeing-eye dogs for the blind, helper dogs for the hearing impaired and physically disabled and are excelling in every way. They are also becoming more and more popular as a companion dog for individuals and families. In Lalou's opinion, Labradoodles are the best dogs in the whole world!
